This inscription belongs to the period before the Aetolians reorganised the Soteria to be panhellenic games ( see Syll_402 ), but the games already attracted contestants from across the Greek world. In Google Maps there is a visual representation of where the contestants came from.
In the year of Aristagoras as archon at Delphi, when Philonidas of Zakynthos, the son of Aristomachos, was priest, with the following men acting as hieromnemon:
