Sylloge Inscriptionum Graecarum: 425

PUBLIC DEDICATIONS AT DELPHI

Greek text:   Sylloge_425
Date:     c. 270 B.C.
Format:   see key to translations

The letters forms of A belong to the first half of the 3rd century B.C.; Dittenberger suggested a more precise date of 276-270 B.C. because that was the period when the Athenians started to appoint hieromnemones ( see for instance Syll_406 ).

[A] The Athenian people dedicated this at the Pythian games.

[B] The . . . people dedicated this at the Soteria games.
