Dittenberger dated this inscription to 193/2 B.C., after Philopoimen's final victory over Nabis of Sparta, but it is clear enough that Philopoimen was general for the fourth time in 201/0, when he invaded Laconia with the support of some Cretans ( Polyb_16.37 ).
When Philopoimen was general of the Achaeans for the fourth time, and Dameas was commander {apoteleios} of the infantry, and Simmias was commander of the cavalry, the following men who served in the army contributed to this monument, dedicated to all the gods:
