Sylloge Inscriptionum Graecarum: 641

THE ATHENIANS DEDICATE A STATUE OF PHILETAIROS AT OLYMPIA

Greek text:   IvO_312
Date:     c. 174 B.C.
Format:   see key to translations

In 174 B.C. Philetairos, the brother of Eumenes II, was honoured in an Athenian decree ( IG_2³.1317 - German translation ). It is possible that Philetairos was awarded Athenian citizenship in the missing part of that decree.

The people of Athens dedicated this statue of Philetairos of Athens, the son of king Attalos and queen Apollonis, who is their benefactor.
