His reign has sometimes been placed slightly earlier, immediately after the Gauls invaded Macedonia in 279 B.C.; see F.W.Walbank, in CAH vol. 7.1, page 230 ( Google Books ).


The state of the Paiones erected this statue of Dropion son of Leon, king and founder of the Paiones, on account of his virtue and his goodwill towards them.
