Only one online translation is shown for each book, although there are often multiple translations of the most popular authors. If there is no online translation, or if it is more than 100 years old, then where possible references have been added to more recent published translations (usually in the standard Loeb series). The choice of translation is often made on the basis of accessibility on the web; there is no guarantee that the translation shown is the most accurate or elegant one.
Links to Latin texts are provided only if there is no online translation available. Anyone who, commendably, wants to read the original Greek and Latin texts rather than translations, can find details of where to find them on the LATO and ForumRomanum sites. The Perseus catalog contains a multitude of links to Greek and Latin texts in Google Books and similar places.
