XENON DEDICATES A STATUE OF HIS WIFE PASICHON AT DELPHI

The date of this inscription must be before 189 B.C., when Boulon son of Xenon was murdered along with two other envoys from Delphi ( Syll_611 ).   For details of some other statues of Greek women, which were dedicated by their relatives, see S.Dillon, "The Female Portrait Statue in the Greek World", page 45 ( Google Books ).


Xenon son of Boulon, together with his sons Boulon, Mnason and Peithagoras, dedicated this statue of his wife Pasichŏn, the priestess of Eileithyia.

Sopatros of Demetrias, the son of Theodoros, made the statue.
