At the time of this inscription, both Tegea and Aristomachos were aligned with Kleomenes of Sparta; but in 224 B.C. Aristomachos was captured and killed by the Achaeans.
It is resolved by the city of Tegea to honour Aristomachos of Argos, the son of Aristomachos, with a panoply and citizenship on an equal basis, on account of his goodwill and his good conduct towards the city.
