ATHENS HONOURS THE LAMIAN JUDGES

This decree marks the successful conclusion of the arbitration announced in Syll_464.


As proposed by Kalaides of Xypete, the son of Kalaides: since the judges appointed by [the city of Lamia], to arbitrate the allotted disputes according to the agreement between the Boeotians and the Athenians, have resolved some of them and have decided the others justly; therefore with good fortune, it is resolved by the council that the allotted presidents shall raise this matter at the next assembly and bring the decision of the council to the people, that the council has resolved to honour the judges on account of their upright conduct, and to crown each of them [with an olive-wreath], namely:   Patron son of Kylouthos, ..leisthenes son of Philippos, . . .
