RECEIPT FOR SETTLEMENT OF A LOAN

Date:   A.D. 166.

The 7th year of the Emperor Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus and the Emperor Caesar Lucius Aurelius Verus Augustus, Thoth 18, through the bank of Sarapion in the Treasuries quarter. Didymus son of Didymus also called Demetrius, of the Sosicosmian tribe and the Althaean deme, and Tesenouphis son of Tesenouphis and another Tesenouphis son of Tesenouphis and Panephremis son of Stotoetis and Pabous son of Satabous notify Claudianus also called Serenus son of Musthes, ex-cosmetes, that he has received from the aforesaid persons the amount which they owed him according to a note of payment of the said bank, which note he has given up to them to be annulled and cancelled, namely one thousand one hundred and twenty-four drachmas, total 1124 dr., and that he has no claim against them up to the present day.
