In 29 B.C. M.Crassus was sent to Macedonia, and fought with great success against the Bastarnae (see DioCass_51.23 ).   This inscription was published in 2017 by P. Nigdelis & P. Anagnostoudis, "New Honorific Inscriptions from Amphipolis" ( PDF ).



The people of Amphipolis and the Romans residing there honoured Marcus Licinius Crassus, imperator, the saviour and benefactor of the city, when the politarchs were Lysimachos son of Metrophon, Archepolis son of Philippos, ..mmatos son of Noumenios, . . .
