In the first year of the Third Macedonian War, king Eumenes II led a force into Thessaly, to join the Roman army under the command of P. Crassus. This expedition was of great importance to Eumenes, and his representatives in Larisa must have been some of his most trusted advisers. Asklepi(a)des is commemorated in an inscription found in Lydia, where he is described as the foster-brother {syntrophos} of Attalos II; see N. Kaye & R. Souza, "New Readings of the Decree for Asklepides son of Theophilos" ( academia.edu ), with a discussion of his family background in pp. 96-98.

When the tagoi were:

and the treasurers were: and the gymnasiarchs were: on the fourteenth day of Thyos, in assembly, 10 with Kleomenes son of Simondas as agoranomos, as proposed by Dikaios son of Euphorbos:   since Asklepiades of Pergamon, the son of Theophilos, and Philotes of Kyzikos, the son of Hippolochos, who came to us with king Eumenes and his brother Attalos, at the same time as Publius the general of the Romans, have conducted themselves during their residence here 20 in a manner befitting good and noble men, and have taken care of the needs of each of our citizens with complete eagerness and zeal;   therefore it is resolved by the people of Larisa to praise Asklepiades of Pergamon, the son of Theophilos, and Philotes of Kyzikos, the son of Hippolochos, because they have conducted themselves during their residence here in a manner befitting good and noble men, and because 30 they have shown goodwill towards our citizens; and the superintendents, whenever there is a suitable occasion, shall take care [that they are granted] citizenship . . .
