The grant of inviolability in this decree would have been valuable to Trikka, giving it some protection against Aetolian raids. See W.K.Pritchett, "The Greek State at War", p.127 ( Google Books ), with a list of some other states that were granted inviolability by the Aetolians or the Amphictyons.
With good fortune. The league of the Aetolians granted to the city of Trikka citizenship, freedom from taxes, inviolability and security for themselves and their property, by land and by sea, both in war and in peacetime. Trikka made a grant to the Aetolians on the same terms. The boularchoi were Phrikos, Menoitas, Dorkinas, Skorpion, Koiseas and Archedamos; the secretary was Pausias.
